So what’s so special about this blue dress that we’d name a blog after it? Because in case you didn’t know, there is an actual blue dress this is all based on.
In our parent’s garage, there is a large clothing rack with more than twenty beautiful, formal dresses that we sisters have worn for various events over the years. In the midst of the organza and tulle, there is a certain blue dress. Our oldest sister Maegan chose this gorgeous blue dress for a much-anticipated Junior prom. She wore it like a princess and looked absolutely radiant. She also wore it for a fun LDS church prom her Senior year, and then the dress stayed in the closet until a few years later when Mariah decided to wear it to one of her formal dances. And so it went; the dress would be donned for a night of dancing and fun and then stored for a few years until the next sister in line was ready to wear it.
There are enough years between all of us that we didn’t share everything between us. Maegan’s friends were not the same as Madison’s friends, and Makayla and Mariah never got to play on the same volleyball team. MaLee was already in high school by the time Tara entered the family. Maegan was in college and married long before Madison was able to date and so despite being family, there were not a lot of things that all of us shared.
One of the things that spanned our age gap and connected us over the years was this blue dress. It’s fun to think back and know that we’ve all had a fun memory in the same blue dress. We are super excited to have another thing that connects us all now: this blog! Thank for you letting us share with you as we connect with one another. We hope you find something here that will uplift, inspire, and excite you.
