Ice Cream Santas
You'll have as much fun making these adorable ice cream Santas as you will eating them! These are perfect for a Christmas celebration or as a special dessert with your loved ones.
- 1 scoop ice cream
- 1 large strawberry washed, with top cut
- 1 mini marshmallow
- 1 red/pink gummy worm
- 1 can whipped cream
- 1 tube blue gel food coloring
- 1 can white cookie frosting with decorating tip
- 3 Christmas sprinkles optional
Scoop a large ball of ice cream and put it in the center of a small plate.
Freeze the ice cream scoop for at least 2 hours. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP or your Santa will melt before you even make the face! While the ice cream is freezing, use kitchen scissors to cut the end from the red gummy worm This will be the nose. Then cut the mini marshmallow in half, then half again. You should have four equally-sized marshmallow pieces. This will make the eyebrows and mustache.
After two hours, remove the ice cream ball from the freezer. Insert the gummy nose in the middle of the face. Add two marshmallow strips for eyebrows and use the other two to make a mustache. Draw eyes using the blue gel food coloring. (A toothpick may come in handy to help guide the gel where you want it.)
Carefully squirt whipped cream along the bottom, back, and sides of the ice cream scoop for Santa's beard and hair. Gently press the strawberry on top of the ice cream. Pipe a line of frosting around the base of the strawberry and a little dot at the top of the berry. Add a little sprinkle decoration on the hat if desired.
Immediately return plate to freezer until serving time.
