My sisters and I are always on the lookout for practical and pretty solutions to household problems. There’s a very good chance you’ll find us at Hobby Lobby fawning over cute baskets, planners, and other organizational goods. Towel Ties, snap-on leather bands that keep hand towels off the ground, is a product that just made our list of approved “pretty and practicals”.

First, I’ll talk about why the bands meet the This Blue Dress sisters’ standards for a practical product, starting with how easy they are to use. The bands snap off and on very quickly, so it takes very little time to swap out towels when you need to. Check out this video to see for yourself!
(Note: For thin towels, you can get a towel filler strip to add bulk so the band stays more secure. It just snaps over the oven door handle and then the towel goes right on top of it.)

While Towel Ties perform wonderfully in the kitchen, it’s the bathroom where Towel Ties became a total game-changer for me.
A couple of years ago, I believed that putting a command hook at kid-level in the kids’ bathroom would fix the problem of the hand towel always being on the ground. Unfortunately, even the easier access did not keep the towel from ending up in a heap on the floor or in a wet wad in the sink. You mommas know what I’m talking about. We all hate and curse the Wet Wad.
After getting a Towel Tie, I did an experiment to see how well the hand towel would hold up to the constant tugging from the kids. After several days, when I was finally too grossed out by the towel to keep it there any longer, the towel was still very much in place. Hanging up. Where it belongs.
Not to be dramatic, but just from this experiment, my opinion of Towel Ties changed from a “nice-to-have” product to almost a “need”. I don’t think I realized how badly having hand towels on the floor bothered me!
Because Towel Ties are easy to use and can be used daily, they pass my practicality test with flying colors.
Ok, now let’s talk about the pretty. I realllllllly like the look of the Towel Ties. It’s incredible how much class the bands add to the kitchen and bathroom and it just makes me feel so put-together.
The laser cut designs are my personal favorite, but I also like how there are simpler designs to go with those busy, printed towels we all have. The leather is sturdy and is holding up well to the months I’ve used the bands in my home.
Bonus: I thought the packaging was really nice too.
I didn’t see any downsides to this product. However, something I would like to see in the future are some Towel Ties sets and maybe some additional colors, like white and grey!
The final say is that my sisters and I highly recommend Towel Ties for your home and for awesome wedding, housewarming, or Mother’s Day gifts as well. (I gifted a couple of the bands to my mom, and she actually uses them as pretty curtain ties because she doesn’t usually hang towels on the oven door. They work great!)
