Sharing is caring!

Hey- we’re the mommies of This Blue Dress: Maegan, Tara, and Mariah. When we are expecting a child, we like to look out for products and brands that make our pregnancies a little more comfortable.

Today we’re sharing our favorite tried-and-true products that we have used during our pregnancies. We’ll add to this list if we come across something later on that we want to shout about!

The Essentials

Bio Oil

Mariah discovered this oil after her second child, and how she wishes she had known about it sooner! Within six weeks of daily application, Bio Oil greatly reduced the amount of her stretch marks and helped her C-section scars to fade more. She has been using it during her third pregnancy, and it is preventing new stretch marks. The oil has a light, pleasant smell that she can tolerate with morning sickness and doesn’t feel greasy or heavy on her skin. Somehow, a bottle lasts a long time, too.

Snoogle Pillow

Tara is a big fan of this amazing pregnancy pillow! It curves around you so you get belly and back support while you rest. (This pillow was well-loved even after pregnancy.) And bonus- the slip-cover is machine washable.

Good Prenatal Vitamins

Prenatal vitamins are essential for all pregnancies! We like to take the gummies because it helps us remember to take the vitamins every day 🙂 We like Vitafushion and Spring Valley gummies and the Nature Made softgels.

A Sturdy Water Bottle

Hydration is so important, so you’ll want a quality water bottle to take everywhere with you. Mariah loves her Contigo water bottle!

Adorable, Affordable Maternity Clothes

It’s important to feel as cute as possible with a growing belly! And if you’re like us, we also don’t want to spend a ton of money on a temporary wardrobe. Our favorite places to score both fashionable and reasonably priced threads are Target, H&M, Zulily, Motherhood Maternity (sales), Ross, and Amazon.

Belly Bands & Waist Extenders

This wonderful products allow you to wear non-maternity pants for longer (or the whole pregnancy) and give your belly some much needed support!

feel more comfortable during all your pregnancies

Must-Haves For the Nauseous :

Shampoo and Conditioner

Try the Aussie brand or the Suave Tropical Coconut scent.

Mild Toothpaste

You know when you get to that point when your toothpaste makes you want to wretch? For Mariah’s pregnancies, AP-24 is one of the only toothpastes she can handle. She can’t say her teeth are much whiter, but she is thankful to just be able to brush her teeth with something other than water.

Vomit Bags

Tara recommends these blue hospital vomit bags for those who get really sick. The bags are easy to keep in the car or your purse, and of course, disposable.

Lotions

Sleep- Lavender & Chamomille Lotion from Bath & Body Works and Equate Cocoa Butter Lotion.

Scent-Free Cleaners

Mariah says, “Cleaning products smelled so terrible to me, but obviously I couldn’t leave my house in filth for nine months. I discovered that Seventh Generation has all-purpose cleaner, laundry detergent, and dish soap that has a “Free & Clear Scent” that is almost non-detectable to my bloodhound nose. These have been huge lifesavers, and many of you will appreciate that the company and products are very green!”

Chapstick

Even chapstick can be nauseating during pregnancy! But try Burt’s Bees Original Chapstick. It has a light, peppermint flavor and moisturizes well.

Smell-Blocker

Try Peppermint Essential Oil! This stuff is great when you are smelling something offensive. Take a whiff or put a drop under your nose- it helps.

Ginger and Lemon Products

Maegan reported that low-sugar ginger snaps helped her through some rough days with nausea. Lemon drops helped Mariah with her second pregnancy.

Extras We Love

Bath Bombs

In those rare available times, taking a soothing bath does wonders. Try these awesome bath bombs for your “me time”.

Baby Doppler

Especially for high-risk pregnancies, having a way to hear your baby’s heartbeat can bring a huge peace of mind, like it did for Maegan. *Please call your doctor if you have any questions or concerns- do not only rely on hearing the heartbeat if something feels wrong.
