Sharing is caring!

We love saving and earning money almost as much as we love to spend it! We’ve tried out several apps that will help you save a little money, earn a little cash, or earn gift cards- every bit helps, right?

And don’t worry- we’ve only shared apps we have actually used ourselves, so we know that these are legit.

If you sign up using our referral codes, we’ll both make a welcome bonus. Thanks for sharing the love!

Grocery/Store Receipt Apps

Fetch

Fetch is another receipt app that is super easy to use. We love this one because you can take a picture of ANY of your recent receipts from ANYWHERE and get at least 25 points. You’ll rack up points pretty quickly by shopping personalized offers, and there are also times you get bonus points for uploading receipts.

Once you have enough points, you can cash in for egift cards. Try our referral code to get 100 points: WD25U

Ibotta

Ibotta has been around for several years now, but so many people have not heard of it! First, choose a store on the app and unlock offers from the grocery categories (Example: .50 off Pringles brand chips). After shopping, upload your receipt and scan the item barcodes. You’ll get rebates for the items! You can cash out for gift cards or deposit directly into PayPal or Venmo once you earn back a minimum of $20.

You can now also connect a store card and skip the scanning altogether- you’ll still need to unlock your desired rebates, but this saves a ton of time! Also, try mobile shopping through Ibotta.

Ibotta is one of our favorite apps to save money. Between weekly shopping trips and the bonus offers, we have saved hundreds of dollars using the app.

If you use our referral code modxycq, you’ll get a welcome bonus after you redeem your first qualifying offer (a.k.a no “Any Brand Items”).

Checkout 51

Checkout 51 is very similar to Ibotta. Unlock rebates and scan your receipts to earn rebates. The main difference is you’ll earn a check instead, and it takes longer for most people to earn the $20 needed to request the check. Also, the check takes a few weeks sometimes to arrive. We definitely view this app as more of a change jar, but because the app is so easy to use, it’s still worth the effort.

Health & Fitness Apps

Stepbet

We had so much to say about this app that we gave it its own full post, which you can check out here. To sum it up, you bet $40 against yourself to meet step goals over a six-week period, and if you are successful, you get your money back plus more.

CashWalk

CashWalk is another walking app that rewards you Stepcoins for every 100 steps you take, and it doesn’t require a fitness tracker–just your phone in your pocket! You can earn up to 100 coins per day by walking, and you can earn bonus coins for watching three short ads. Earn 10,000 Stepcoins and then cash them in for gift cards from famous brands and products.

It’s not a huge money maker, but you can get several small gift cards a year for just having your phone in your pocket. It’s also fun to tap the treasure chest to collect the Stepcoins.

Evidation

Do you walk? Sleep? Eat? Weigh yourself? Link a fitness tracker to your Evidation account and then literally rack up points by updating info on your tracker. The more active you are, the more points you’ll get per day. You can also participate in short surveys and read health articles for extra points. Redeem 10,000 points for $10, which can go right into PayPal.

Most people earn about $20-$30 a year, which isn’t much, but you don’t have to do much, either.

Online Savings Apps

Honey

Honey is a super easy-to-use browser application that saves you money when shopping online. Honey finds and applies the best promo codes to your orders, and you barely have to do anything at all.

ALSO, when you shop on qualifying websites, you earn “honey gold”, which you can redeem for $10 gift cards. Sweet, right?

Use referral code joinhoney.com/ref/g2oucf to get started!

Rakuten

Formerly known as Ebates, Add Rakuten to your browser for easy cash back as you do regular online shopping. This really adds up around Christmas and birthdays! The only downside is that you have to wait to get your money every quarter.

Hopper

Hopper predicts price changes of airfare and hotels, which can help you save money just by booking at the best times!

Swagbucks

Take surveys, shop, play games, watch videos, and more to earn points for gift cards and cash!

My favorite way to earn Swagbucks quickly–use the “offers” section for higher-value Swagbucks (only do offers you would want to use anyway or you’re not really saving money!).

I also always shop with the Swagbucks, Rakuten, or Honey extension. I just use whichever one has the best cashback offer. They do add up!
