Sharing is caring!

I adore shopping! New clothes can make you feel confident, attractive, and sometimes even like a whole new person. But unfortunately, my wallet is not as big as my fashion obsession. As it turns out, I am not alone in this predicament. There are hundreds of thousands of fashionistas out there who walk through the mall just to window shop because they cannot afford the clothes they love so much.

Thankfully, there are ways for everyone to feed their fashion passion without breaking the bank. Nestled between Candy Crush and Netflix in the app store are several apps just waiting to help you satisfy your need to shop.

Here are the top 10 apps to save you money as you fill your closet.

Save money while you fill your closet with these great apps!

1: SHEIN

I came across this website last spring and just recently discovered they have an app that allows you to shop more easily. SHEIN is the perfect place to start your discount shopping trip! On top of their great prices, SHEIN constantly runs promos for free shipping, coupon codes, and additional discounts so you are always able to save a little extra cash.

However, there are a few things to be aware of when using this app for the first time. First, with standard shipping, it will take approximately 6-17 business days to receive your order. There is an express shipping option that will get your clothes to you within about a week, but it is more expensive.

The other thing to be aware of is the importance of reading the product reviews. Some of the clothes aren’t as high quality as the others and some fit differently than you’d expect. Pay attention to the reviews and size guides, and you will be very happy with your SHEIN shopping.

2: thredUP

It’s very trendy right now to piece together outfits from thrift stores, and several Instagram influencers are making a killing doing exactly that. ThredUp is my favorite used clothes app. They only accept clothes from specific brands and ALWAYS go through each piece individually to check for holes, stains, or other damages before reselling them. It’s very easy to search and shop on, and they also sell accessories, which is always a bonus for me.

One other perk of this app is that you can sell them your own used clothes. They mail you a bag and you just put your clothes in the bag and ship it back to them. ThredUp goes through your clothes, pays you for the ones they decide to resell, and then give you several options for what to do with the leftover clothes. You can read more about this process in Madison’s thredUP review

3: Rue La La

If you are a “brand name” person, you might prefer Rue La La over other discount clothing apps. Rue La La offers clothing, accessories, shoes, and even household items. The merchandise is all from well-known luxury brands. The app lists the average retail price next to the heavily discounted price Rue La La offers, which makes you feel good about the money you are saving as you shop.

The app is very well organized and is extremely easy to search through. You can sort by category, brand, or search for specific keywords. You are going to be spending a lot more money per item on this app than the others on this list, but you’ll be getting quality brand name clothes at a crazy discount.

4: Ibotta

One way to shop some of the typical retail brands while still saving cash is through the Ibotta app. Some of you may already use this app for your groceries, but did you know they have a clothing section, also? This section offers cashback on many well-known brands, such as J. Crew, Athleta, and Kohls. Once you hit $20 in savings, you can move this money to your Venmo or PayPal account, or even choose to redeem it for a gift card to one of your favorite stores.

5: Rent the Runway

Looking for a dress for a special occasion? Or maybe you are one of those people who only wear clothes a few times before getting rid of them to buy something new? Rent the Runway is the app for you. You can rent designer clothes for one time events or subscribe to a membership that allows you to rotate new rental pieces in and out of your closet every month. It’s an affordable way to keep your wardrobe fresh and stylish without ever having to shop in a store.

6: Groupon

Discount clothes, accessories, and shoes are always available on the Groupon app. These deals rotate often but are easily found and purchased through “Goods” section. Some of the items are from brands you will recognize, but others are generic “no name” clothes. Many of them have reviews from previous buyers to confirm the product quality/sizing. There is less of a selection than on other apps, but the clothing prices are better than most other discount sites.

7: Poshmark

This is another great secondhand clothing app. Though only the luxury brand items are inspected by the company, there is a money back guarantee for any items that don’t match their listed description. It is extremely easy to navigate the app with search filters such as price, color, clothing condition etc. I love being able to browse specific categories of clothes/accessories or search for specific keywords in the search bar. Poshmark is another great way to sell your old clothes because they make it so easy to list and ship your items.

8: Swagbucks

Click on this app, click on the well-known brand you want to shop, check out on the website, and earn cash back. It’s as simple as that. Swagbucks offers deals for brands such as Target, Jane, Banana Republic and SO many more! Each website offers different cashback percentages, so some clothing purchases will make you more money than others. Swagbucks is one of the easiest ways to save money on the brands you already know and love, and is not limited just to savings on clothes.

9: Romwe

If you are looking for quantity, Romwe is the app you need. Their prices are dirt cheap and you can easily restock your wardrobe for each new season. There is a wide variety of styles to satisfy every fashionista. Check out their rotating specials for even more savings on your favorite seasonal fashions.

10:  Amazon

One of the largest online selections for clothing and accessories is found on Amazon.com. There are many different size options in everything from businesswear, to activewear, to loungewear. Most items have helpful reviews in the descriptions and matching size charts. Of course, one of the huge perks of Amazon is having an Amazon Prime account. If you have Amazon Prime, you should definitely be using this app for clothes shopping. The clothes are competitively priced, brand new, and will ship to you in just a few days for free.
