Our Favorite Chili Recipes

Everyone, grab your slow cookers! We’ve rounded up some our favorite chili recipes for all your fall event needs!

We have a very important question for you as well: Are you Team White Chili, Red Chili, or a Rebel (prefers other kinds/not a chili fan)?

Mariah (Team White)

Every year, her family attends a Trunk-or-Treat that is hosted by the members of her church.  The congregation has a Halloween party beforehand, and usually it includes a chili cook-off. She brings a dessert for the event every year, but has never been brave enough to subject innocent people to her cooking.

Until this year! This year she’s brave enough to subject innocent people to her cooking. Her entry will be this amazing and easy White Chicken Chili. Thank you, Cooking Classy, for a recipe that is difficult to mess up. Mariah loves this recipe because of the southwestern elements.

MaLee (Team Red)

MaLee might possibly be in the kitchen the most out of all the sisters. As far as cooking goes, anyway. (We all like to be in the kitchen to mooch food.) She’s pretty darn talented, and she was kind enough to share her White Chicken Chili recipe with us. (Even though she is Team Red, her white chili is awesome.) Here’s her recipe!

 Maegan (Team Red)

Maegan usually makes delicious chili with whatever items she has on hand, and doesn’t have a go-to chili recipe. HOWEVER, no one loves Steak n’ Shake chili as much as her. The Steak n’ Shake in our hometown is notorious for insanely slow evening service, and there have been many nights full of laughs waiting for Maegan’s chili order in the restaurant or drive-thru. The chili is worth it, or she wouldn’t keep going back! Here’s a copycat Steak n’ Shake chili recipe from The Hillbilly Housewife.

 Tara (Team Red)

Tara’s Spicy Crockpot Chili is AMAZING. Follow the recipe below for a delicious fall dinner! (Speaking of spicy and amazing, check out her chip dip too!)

Tara’s Spicy Crockpot Chili

(Serves about 8)

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef
  • 1 lb hot sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 2 cans black beans
  • 2 cans red beans
  • 1 8 oz. can tomato soup
  • 2 T molasses
  • 3 bay leaves
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • Dash cinnamon
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Toppings (optional):

  • Shredded cheese (spicy cheese for more kick!)
  • Sour cream
  • Fritos

Directions:

Cook onions, beef, and sausage in a pan until meat is browned. Use a wooden spoon to chop the meat into small pieces. Add water and taco seasoning; mix thoroughly. Transfer to crockpot. Add rest of ingredients. Cook on high for 3-4 hours. Top as desired.

Madison (Rebel)

Here is our little rebel, offering an equally delicious alternative to chili. Taco Soup for the win, everyone!

Makayla (Team White)

Makayla loves this recipe from Averie Cooks! You’ll get incredible white chili on your table in just over half an hour.
